Bubs McKeg & The Aces

Bubs McKeg is a soulful blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter known for his powerful voice and finger-picking style. He began his career in the 1960s with The Igniters, one of the first white bands signed to Atlantic Records. He later co-founded Diamond Reo, scoring a Top 40 hit with “Ain’t That Peculiar” and touring with major rock acts. After recording solo and with the blues duo McKeg Lawson, a Pittsburgh favorite until James Lawson’s passing in 1994, Bubs continued performing under his own name. Today, he’s the lead singer of The Aces, carrying on his legacy as a force in the Pittsburgh blues and rock scene.
