Gregg Krupa

Gregg “The Professor” Krupa is a seasoned blues guitarist from Wexford, PA, and a pillar of the Pittsburgh blues scene. With over 25 years of performing under his belt, Krupa has earned a reputation for passionate playing and impeccable guitar chops. He got his start in the Steel City’s bar circuit and has since appeared at major festivals (including numerous Pittsburgh Blues Festivals) and shared stages with legends like John Mayall, Buckwheat Zydeco, and Joe Bonamassa.

Known for his fiery solos and soulful vocals, Gregg draws inspiration from blues greats such as B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, yet infuses every song with his own signature style. He has led bands like Dirty Pool and the Boogie Monsters, and for the past decade-plus has been the guitar ace in the award-winning group Blues Attack. In fact, Krupa has twice been named Best Blues Guitarist by the Blues Society of Western PA – a testament to his skill and dedication. Whether ripping into an uptempo shuffle or bending notes on a slow-burning blues, Krupa’s playing is both “furious and tasty,” pairing technical prowess with deep feel. His live performances exude energy and showmanship, making him a favorite among Pittsburgh blues fans. At the festival, expect Gregg Krupa to deliver a master class in blues guitar – high-energy, heartfelt, and steeped in the roots of American music.
