Jason Born Band (IBC Winners)

The Jason Born Band is led by emerging blues-rock guitarist and songwriter Jason Born, the reigning Western Pennsylvania International Blues Challenge winner. Hailing from the Pittsburgh area, Born is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, vocals, drums) who blends rock, blues, metal, and soul into a genre-defying sound. His power trio delivers high-octane performances marked by searing guitar solos, heavy grooves, and soulful melodies. Still in his twenties, Jason has been performing since his teens and has quickly become a standout on the local scene with his technical skill and on-stage charisma.

In late 2024, the Jason Born Trio took top honors at the Blues Society of Western PA’s annual competition, earning the chance to represent the region in Memphis and cementing Born’s status as a rising star. Influenced by guitar heroes like Jimi Hendrix as well as modern blues-rock acts, Born writes original songs that put a contemporary spin on blues traditions – expect plenty of fiery riffs alongside heartfelt lyrics. Despite his youth, he brings a veteran’s poise to the stage, often leaving crowds amazed by his talent. At the festival, Jason Born and his band will showcase why they’re Western PA’s blues champions: audiences can look forward to an electrifying guitar throwdown filled with passionate vocals and a sound that swings from down-and-dirty blues to hard-driving rock.
